I chose Griselda Hinojosa, the first woman pharmacist in Chile, because she was one of the first women to get a university degree in the country. She was born in Copiapó and she studied at University of Chile in 1889. Later, she defined herself as a pharmaceutical chemist, although that denomination didn't exist yet. After graduating in 1899, she worked in the "Botica y Droguería" of Copiapó and then with her husband founded the pharmacy Manuel Antonio Matta in Santiago.
I admire Griselda because she lived in a conservative society, but she was anticlerical, radical, freethinker, positivist, rationalist and she had feminist reflections, and also she managed to study in a career with only men.
